Because \(x \in (-\infty, 2)\cup(8,\infty)\), we know when x = 2, y = 0 and when x = 8, y = 0.

So, the quadratic is \((x-2)(x-8) = \color{brown}\boxed{x^2 - 10x + 16}\)
