For the first question, angle A is given by

asin(6/12) = asin(1/2)  = 30°

So angle B = (90 -30) = 60°

For the second question......using the Pythagorean Theorem.....b = 12

You should know the 6 trig functions!!!.........I'll give you three and you can do the other three......... I'm basing them on Angle A

sin A = a/c = 9/15

cos A = b/c = 12/15

tan A = a/b = 9/12

I believe this is just the distance between the points. So we have

√[(400 - 125)² + (350 - 225)²]    ≈   302.08

So we have the opposite side (5) and the adjacent side (4) and we need the hypoteneuse.

So √(5² + 4²) = √41

And the cosine is the adjacent/hypoteneuse =    4/√(41)   or   4*√(41)/(41)

I got the whole story from Sisyphus, himself, rosala....when we weren't looking, he stole that zero from zegroes' original answer!!!!

Here's a slightly "non-mathematical" way to do this.....

Divide 108 by 3 = 36

So, 36 + 36 + 36 = 108   Subtract 2 from the first 36 and add 2 to the last

34 + 36 + 38

And there's your answer.....!!!

This appears to be linear......

Consider the slope between the first two points and then between the second and third points:

(2450 - 1100)/ (5-2) = 450      and

(3800 - 2450) / (8-5)  = 450

So the slope is the same, indicating a linear function.

Now, we can find the "y intercept" (where x = 0) by noting that everytime x changes by 1, y changes by 450. So when x changes from 2 to 0, y decreases from 1100 by (2 * 450) = 900. So 1100 - 900 = 200.

And the equation of our line is

y = 450x + 200

You will only have the ambiguous case with a SSA situation. Here's a really good explanation of how to proceed when you have this situation.....I wouldn't even attempt to add anything else to it!!
