If the area is 12 ft² , the side is just the square root of this.

So

√12 =

√(4 * 3) =

2√3 = about 3.5 ft. (rounded)

-2(5x+1)>48     divide both sides by -2

Note that, when we multiply or divide by a negative in an inequality, we must reverse the direction of the inequality sign  ......!!!!.......so we have......

5x + 1 < -24       subtract 1 from both sides

5x < -25              divide by 5 on both sides

x < -5

For a percent increase we have.....

[Greater number - Lesser Number] / [Lesser Number]

For a percent decrease, we have......

[Greater number - Lesser Number] / [Greater Number]

This IS a seemingly confusing situation.......here's a page that may help explain Honga's answer.....

log2x + logx² = log 16     using a property of logs on the left hand side

log(2x*x²) = log (16 )         so....equating the expressions in the parentheses, we have

2x³ = 16    divide both sides by 2

x³ = 8   take the cube root of both sides

x = 2

Just multiply 160 by 1.15......!!!

Using

1 - cos²x = sin²x   .... we have...

1 - (2/5)² = sin²(x)

1 - (4/25) = sin²(x)

21/25 = sin²(x)      take the square root of both sides

±√(21 / 25)  = [±(1/5)√21 ] = sin(x)
