It DOES seem a bit tricky, at first......I had to think for a few minutes about how to set it up...LOL!!!!

Let's look at this in "pieces"

936 =

800 + 100 + 36     and 25%  = 1/4   so....dividing everything by 4 we have

200 + 25 + 9 = 234 = 2.34....just as Anonymous found......

We can find one of the angles by taking the tangent inverse of (30/10) = 3....this will be the acute angle on the base

So we have

tan^-1 (3)  = 71.565°

And, of course the other angle (the angle at the apex) is just this value subtracted from 90.......

10a + 6  take out the greatest common factor = 2

So we have

2(5a + 3)        

Notice that   5(5a + 1) = 25a + 5.....  and that  couldn't possibly give us 10a + 6.....

Your answer is correct

(1/5) x (1/3)^3 = (1/5) x (1/27)   = 1/ 135 = .0074 

Welll...there are probably an infinite number of ways....but...why do you want to complicate things???

Just sum the top  /   bottom    and divide the first by the second......!!!!

This just means to put the "-3" in for "x"  ...so we have

25(-3) + 8 =   ????

Using the second equation   we have explicitly that x = y + 3....so....let's just substitute that into the first equation...so we have

y = -4(y + 3) - 3     simplify

y = -4y -12 - 3

y = - 4y -15       add 4y to both sides

5y = -15       divide both sides by 5

y = -3

And....since x =y + 3...then x must equal -3 + 3 = 0

So our solution is ( 0, -3)
