The titration steps in question are : (believe me...I had to look this one up)

- the iodate ions are reduced to form iodine

IO3- + 6 H+ + 5 e- --> ½ I2 + 3 H2O

- while the iodide ions are oxidised to form iodine.

2 I- --> I2 + 2 e-

Combining these half-equations demonstrates the reaction between iodate and iodide

IO3- + 5 I- + 6 H+ --> 3 I2 + 3 H2O

It is the iodine formed by this reaction that oxidises the ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid as the iodine is reduced to iodide ions.

ascorbic acid + I2 --> 2 I- + dehydroascorbic acid

SO each mole of IO3-  used results in  3   I2 's       Each I2 reacts with one molecule of ascorbic acid (vit C).....so you will use   THREE times the vit C as moles of IO3-

7.5 x 10^-4 mole x 3=  = 22.5 x 10^-4 moles of vit C

A)When the ball hits the ground, the height will be zero so:

0 = -16x^2 +72 x 

72= 16x     x =  72/16 = 4.5 seconds

B)  The ball spends HALF of the time in the air going UP and half of the time coming back DOWN...so it reaches its MAXIMUM at  1/2  x  4.5  = 2.25 Seconds

Hmax = -16(2.25)^2 + 72(2.25) = 81 feet

C) The ball will be at 32 feet TWICE (going UP and coming DOWN)

    32 = -16x^2+72x       -16x^2 +72x - 32 = 0     Use quadratic formula to find x = 0.5 sec and 4 sec

I think you meant  e = mc^2 , Mr Einstein.....

this shows the amount of energy (e) in a given mass (m) is equal to that mass times the speed of light (c) SQUARED.

The speed of light is a really big number (3 x 10^ m/s) , so you can see how only a small mass can make such a HUGE nuclear explosion......or power a city for a very long time.....etc.

Via dimensional analysis:

8 people x 32 minutes   /  8 walls =  32   people - minutes / wall

12 walls / 12 people    x   32 people-minutes/wall =  32 minutes

Agree,   mostly......    the principal value for inverse COS is between  0 and pi/2  (inclusive)  for POSITIVE values of COS.
