.02 = x/(.5)2
Multiply .5 and 2 together
.02 = x/(1)
Multiply each side by 1
.02 = x
When you say a number is "of" another number, you are multiplying
Ex:
What is 9% of 20?
You multiply .09 and 20 together to find the answer :)
When you post an answer, you'll see insert at the top
Click on insert, then special character
The division sign is the second to last character in the second row
→ ÷ ←
x/100 = 40/400
Cross multiply
400x = 4000
Divide by 400 on both sides
x = 100
x = 10%
Plug the numbers into the formula above ^^
m = (4 - 2)/(2 - 3)
Solve
2/-1
The commutative property allows you to swap numbers around and still get the same answer.
2 + 1 = 1 + 2
My teacher is having us memorize 1-25 squared, and basically you just have to study!
To be absolutely honest, a lot of people don't use certain types of math when they are older, like algebra. But we do need math to get to good colleges, it's just the way things are. When you say "why do we need math" that also means why do we need to know 1 + 1? You use math in every day life.
3x - 4 = 107
Add 4 on both sides
3x = 110
Divide by 3 on both sides
x = 36.6666666667 or 36.7 or 37
uhhhh..... interesting.....
