There already are fractions available in the calculator. When you get to the calculator, click the button on the far right in the area where if you clicked numbers, they would appear. Then, it should say Scientific, Programmer, and then input helpers. Under input helpers, click Fractions. There you go!

An easy way to get the answer is go use the calculator found on the site

Click HOME, and the calculator should appear

Click the 9, then the + sign, then 10 and hit =

-8 - (-6)

The 2 negatives cancel each other out

-8 + 6

Add

-2

Function notation is the way a function is written. It is meant to be a precise way of giving information about the function without a rather lengthy written explanation. The most popular function notation is f (x) which is read "f of x".

In my algebra class, when we learned it, my teacher just told us to think of it as another way to write y, because we used f of x in tables instead of y. Hopefully this helps!

Simplify

14 + 3a = 3 - 20a - 12

Subtract 3a from both sides

14 = 3 - 23a - 12

Simplify

14 = -9 - 23a

Add 9 on both sides

23 = -23a

Subtract -23 on both sides

And there you go :)
