8 divided by one third

$${\frac{{\mathtt{8}}}{{\mathtt{1}}}}$$ divided by $${\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{3}}}}$$ would equal $${\mathtt{24}}$$ your correct but you need to show work if your working out a math problem from a textbook so to get the answer you would have to rewrite the problem but turn the 8 into a fraction which would be 8/1 then change the divsion sign into a mutiplication sign and flip 1/3. $${\frac{{\mathtt{8}}}{{\mathtt{1}}}}$$ x $${\frac{{\mathtt{3}}}{{\mathtt{1}}}}$$   8x3=24

so the answer would be $${\frac{{\mathtt{24}}}{{\mathtt{1}}}}$$ which is equal to 24. i find fractions easy i caught on to them very fast. geno3141 was right but i wanted to explain the problem so they would be able to know how the answer was found

To divide by a common fraction, multiply by the reciprocal:

8 ÷ (1/3)  =  8 x (3/1)  =  8 x 3  =  24.
