#+#(4)=56 what is the mumbers

Maybe they don't have to be the same number, in which case there a lots of answers

4*14=56

so it could be

0+14(4)=56

or

52+1(4)=56

or

20+9(4)=56

etc

I'm going to replace your "#" with "x"

So we have      x + x4 = 56 ....  or ... x + 4x = 56.... or..... 5x = 56

Divide both sides by 5      we have

x = 56/5 = "#"

And that's it !!
