Hi Melody,

I think they mean how to store a variable/answer on a calculator(?)

On scientific calculators, there is a M+ button that you press to store an answer. To retrieve the answer, press MR and to clear the memory, press M-

On a graphing calculator, press the STO-> button and enter any letter (alpha, letter) to store your answer. When you need to use the answer, simply enter it in as that letter.

Generally, variables can be stored for about two weeks with proper refrigeration. To prepare for storage, wash the variable first with mild soap and water, making sure to rinse, afterwards. Then, carefully place the variable in a plastic bag to prevent freezer burn. Variables keep best at about -4C  - you Fahrenheit prople can work this out for yourselves.

After two weeks, the variable is only fit for random puposes  and should be disposed of accordingly.
