how do you input the log base?

The calculator will let you take logs in bases 10, e and 2. (Hover your cursor over the "log" button to see the other two bases)

If you have this:

loga b    ......        where a is an "uncommon" base

You can always use the change-of-base rule to evaluate the log =    log (b) / log (a)
