There are 3 nickelss, 2 dimes, and 5 quauters in a purse. Three coins are selected in succession at rondom. Find the probabililty. 

 

1. P(nickel, then dime, then quater), if replacement occurs.

 

2. P(3 dimes), if replcement occurs.

P(nickel, dime quarter) = (3/10)(2/10)(5/10) = 30/1000 =  3/100 = .03

P(3 dimes) = (2/10)(2/10)(2/10) = 8/1000 = ..008
