No....we're trying to find the opposite side.....the tangent is correct......let's look at the set up....

tan(12) = opp / 150

B = w - z/v

Note the "z/v" is just a single term that we can add to the other side

B + z/v = w     and this "isolates" w

Does that make sense???

For the first one, we have

4√( x20y28) = 4√ (x(5*4)y(4*7)) = 4√ (16*5*7*xy) = 16√(35xy ).... (Note....We took out a "4" and multiplied it by the one on the "outside")

This is always easy to see......if "x" is the squared term, the parabola opens upward (or downward, as the case may be.) If "y" is the squared term, it opens "sideways." Notice that "x" is squared and there is no "negative" on either side of the equation.......so it opens upward !!!

BTW...the 3/4 needs to be in parenthesis !!!  The way it's written could be confused for

(3)/(4y)........and this wouldn't be a parbola.....
