I'll give you a hint here:

x * x =  x²

x * x * x = x³  

That should help

30  + 25x = 130 is correct

30 epresents the "fixed" charge per day and 25x is the variable charge based on the miles driven

Note, rosala, that we have a right triangle with a hypoteneuse = 10.  We know one "leg" = 3. So, we're just trying to find the other "leg."

All we need to do is to square the 10 = 100.

Then. square the 3  = 9

Subtract the "smaller" from the "bigger"   =   100 - 9  = 91

And take the square root of the answer  √91 ≈ 9.5 ft.  !!!

And there's the other "leg"

If we knew both "legs," we would just square both of them, add the results, and take the square root. That would give us the hypoteneuse!!

Does that make sense???

Notice that the distance between x values is just 3- (-2) = 5

And (2/3) of this is just 10/3

And we want 2/3 of the distance from G to H.

So,  3 - 10/3 = 9/3 - 10/3 = -1/3  and that's the value of the x coordinate that is 2/3 of the distance from G to H.

Use the tangent inverse to find the angle.....we have

atan(123/170) ≈ 35.89°.......nore that this could also be an angle in the 3rd quadrant, too, since the tangent is also positive there....so 180° + 35.89° = 215.89°

P.S. - The tangent inverse key could be labeled as "atan" or "tan^-1 " on your calculator
