The error occurs in these two steps......

3x-2(3x-4)=13

3x-6x-8=13  

When the "-2" is distributed across the "-4" inside the parentheses, the result should be a positive 8, rather than a negative 8.

If the distances represent those drawn to each of five vertexes from a central point, there are infinite answers to this. This is because the angle formed between any two of the lines has infinite possibilities......thus, the side of the polygon contained between the two lines could have many lengths. And each side would have the same characteristic.

To find the y intercept, let x = 0....so we have

(2/3)y = 3/5

So y = (3/5)*(3/2) = 9/10

So the y intercept is (0, 9/10)

To find the x intercept, let y = 0......so we have

(-3/4)x = 3/5

So x  = (3/5)*(-4/3) = (-4/5)

And the x intercept is (-4/5, 0)

Now...just plot both points on a graph and draw your line through them.....

No prob, ND......"bearing" is a Trig topic.....however, your answer is useful, too. After all, knowing how far you might have to travel to get back to the starting point might be just as important as knowing the bearing to take to get there !!!!
