The first aim is to get all the xs to one side and all the numbers(without xs) to the other side.

you do this by saying, what do I want to get rid of.

It would be good to get rid of the +3, what is the opposite of adding 3, taking 3 away would be a good answer.
but, if you take 3 away from the left hand side, you have to take 3 away from the right hand side as well
so you get
2x+3-3 = 7x-2-3
2x = 7x - 5
next you need to get rid of the 7x from the right hand side, what is the opposite of adding 7x (there is an invisable + in front of the 7) taking it away wouldbe correct.

You see if you can finish it,

what is the average rate of change in f(t) between t=2 and t=5

f(2) = 4+2 =6
f(5) = 25 +5 = 30

so the change in f(t) over this interval is 30-6=24

Now, is this intended as a calculus question?
I am not really sure how I should interpret it but here goes.

the rate of change is given by f ' (t)
f ' (t) = 2t+1

f ' (2) = 5
f ' (5) = 26

so i suppose that the average rate of change is (26-5) / 3 = 7
I'm not really sure if this is what is needed.

Good question.
Think about it.
sine(theta) = opposite / hypotenuse
the hypotenuse is the longest side of the right angled triangle.
Therefore, opp / hyp must be between 0 and 1. (because the bigger number is on the bottom)

When you learn about angles bigger than 90 degrees, You will find out that the sine can be negative. between -1 and 0
So
the sine of an angle must be between -1 and +1 (inclusive)

I'll show you what y = sine(theta) looks like, the graph shows you that any value of sine(theta) is between -1 and 1
