Maybe (7.93+6.57)/2 = 7.25 This is the centre of the range

then 7.93-7.25 = 0.68

So maybe it is
7.25±0.68

2d^2=8+10d

The first thing that i notice is that I can divide everything by 2. so do that, it will make it easier.
d ²=4+5d
Now it is best to have all the ds on one side and the number by itself on the other side.
so subtract 5d from both sides
d ²-5d=4
Now
x ² + bx + (b/2) ² = (x+a) ²
The x is the same as your d
Your b = -5
So the last term must be (-5/2) ² = 25/4
So you need to add 25/4 to both sides.
d ²-5d=4
d ²-5d+(25/4)=4+(25/4)
(d-(5/2)) ²=(16+25)/4
(d-(5/2)) ²= (41)/4
so
d - 5/2 = +- sqrt(41/4)
d= 5/2 +- [sqrt(41)]/2

d = [5 +- sqrt(41)] / 2

I f you want to find a power, you have to take the log of both sides.
log 5 = log 1.14 ^x

Now use the log identities to solve this.
you will find all that you need here
The 3rd one down under simpler operations is the one you will use.

okay, you have numbers and you have lots of t's (you can think of them as the tigers if it helps).

The minus signs always belongs to whatever is behind it.
so the terms are 2t, -8t, +5 and -2
You can't add t's (or tigers) to numbers, it doesn't make sense.
YOU CAN ONLY ADD OR SUBTRACT LIKE TERMS
In your original question, put a circle around the 2t and around the -8t.

2-8=-6 so 2t-8t=-6t
and 5-2=3
so the answer is
-5t+3

This question sounds terrible but I think it is quite easy.
Have you actually drawn the picture? It is the cross section of the pipe that you are interested in. And you do need to draw it.
The 40mm depth is not needed (I will just assume that it is accurate)

I suppose you can assume that 50mm is the internal diameter of the pipe.

Now, think in degrees first, you will probably find that easier
You know that there are 360 degrees in a circle.
If you had a sector with an angle of 20degrees at the centre then you would have 20/360 of a circle. does that make sense?

There are 2*pi radians in a circle. You have 2.74 radians. How much of the circle will that be. How much of the total circumference will that be?

You know that the circumference of a whole circle is 2*pi *r

What will be the circumference of the major arc that you are after?
