1. if the volume of the prism is 16 in^3 what is the volume the pyramid?
2. if the volume of the pyramid is 9 in^3 what is the volume the prism?
3. if the volume of the prism is 24 in^3 what is the volume the pyramid?
4. if the volume of the pyramid is 7 in^3 what is the volume the prism?

Imagine this
You have a rectangular prism.
You have a pyramid
the base of the pyramid is exactly the same size as the base of the prism.
the perpendicular height of the pyramid is exactly the same as the prism.
Then=> The volume of the prism is 3 times greater than the volume of the pyramid.
and => The volume of the pyramid is 1/3 times the volume of the prism.

This should be enough i think.

expand the brackets,
take 11.25 from both sides
and then use the quadratic formula to solve it.

Here is my version of the magic number (choose the one that is best suited to your ability level)

Rules:
You have to use some or all of the numbers to make the magic number. You are not allowed to use any of the numbers twice. (Unless one was written twice in the first place)
You can use brackets, +, -, x, or divide and that is it.

EASIER ONE
3,2,8,10 and the magic number is 120

HARD ONE
2,5,9,6,4 and the magic number is 536

You really need to put the 50+8 in brackets because when you get to high school you will learn that multiply is more important than plus, you have to do multiply first.
now this is an important thing that you already know
Try putting 50+8*10+3 = into your calculator and see what answer you get.
so your answer is
(50+8)*10+3 = 583

you use inverse trig.

For example if
sin(theta)=3/4 then

inverse sine (3/4) = theta

inverse sine (3/4) might look like
sin ^-1(3/4)
[Don't confuse inverse sine with a power of -1 . It looks the same but it means something completely different.]
or
asin(3/4)

a stands for arc which means the same as inverse

In your calc you probably need to press 2nd function sin to bring up this function.

Add all the amounts up to get the first total

Tax is 8% of first total
8% is 8/100 and of is x so it is just 8/100 x first total

Add the tax to your first total and that is the cost.
