How to make an empty rectangle in Latex

I just worked out how to make an empty box of various horizonal size easily in LaTex.
This is not a recommended method, but other methods that I have tried here have not worked.

you didn't quite read the rules, the 1994 was suppose to stay in that order.
But it doesn't matter, I like your way better and Grmal has not been complaining.
so what numbers have you left?

Stu:
solve log₄(1/4).. What do I do with the fraction in a log situation. How in the instance described do I apply log_amⁿ = n log_am. Oh It should be so easy. Got to work out some of the nuts and bolts I think with this one.

now 1/4 = 1/4 ¹ ==> 4 ^-1
Remember that Stu? Probably not, I know that you have been swamped.
so
log ₄(1/4) = log ₄(4 ^-1) ==> -1*log ₄4 ==> -1*1 ==> -1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 log _a5 + log _ap =

= log _a5 ² + log _ap

= log _a25 + log _ap

= log _a(25p)

Interesting. There isn't one. You could enter is as (50+39/60) degrees if you wished.

sqrt(2x+8)-2sqrt(x) = 0

sqrt(2x+8) = 2sqrt(x)

sqrt(2x+8) = sqrt(4)sqrt(x)

sqrt(2x+8) = sqrt(4x)

2x+8=4x

8 = 2x
x=4
