WHY DO YOU BELIEVE THE FIRST ANSWER TO BE WRONG.

i WILL ANSWER BUT  IF YOU BELIEVE IT IS WRONG I EXPECT YOU TO SAY WHY

Jay owns a fleet of 30 shiny cars.

 Each car has either standard transmission or automatic transmission
 Each car is either black, white, or red
 Each car is either a Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Chevrolet, Pinto, or Citroen.

No two cars are the same for each of the three categories. (For example, no two cars have standard transmission, are white, and Toyotas.)

Two of the cars are chosen at random. What is the probability that the two cars differ in all three categories? (For example, a black Chevrolet with standard transmission is different in all three categories from a red Pinto with automatic transmission, but not from a black Mercedes-Benz with automatic transmission.)

There are 30 cars

Choose the first car.

Now there are 29 cars left.

15 of those have got a different transmition.

10 of those 15 have got a different colour

and

8 of those have got a different make.

so I think that answer is    8/29

Here is a little tree diagram I drew to help with my thought processes.

Well that one goes through (0,0)  so that is good.

But then it goes up, where y is positive.

The original one went down first.  Do you get what i mean?

So no it isn't A.

So now we know it isn't A and it isn't B

C and D are confusing becasue there is meant to be a  multiply sign between 1/2 and the minus sign

So

C is meant to be      \(f(x)=\frac{1}{2}*-sinx\\ \)

D is meant to be     \(f(x)=\frac{1}{2}*-cosx\)

The correct answer must be one of those.

As EP has pointed out it does not fit with your original one.

You need a graph that goes through (0,0)  and goes down from that point. 

Try the others and see which one works..

I asked you for a link to your graph that you said you drew.

You have not yet answered my last question on this thread either.  I asked you for the equation of the x axis.  It was #13 on this thread.

I had another question for you here too.

So what is the equation of the line do you think.  (Look at the last examples if you are still confused)

Here I have graphed the x axis and I have put 5 points on it.

I would like you to tell me what those points are.

Like I want    A(?,?)    you fill in the question marks.

After that I want you to tell me what all the points have in common.

And then, if you can tell me what the equation of the line is.
