The easiest way is to to determine what is the smallest common multiple of 2,3, and 4  (the numbers on the bottom)

They all go into 12  so 12 is the magic number

\(\frac{1}{2}=\frac{ \square }{12}\\ \frac{3}{4}=\frac{ \square }{12}\\ \frac{1}{3}=\frac{ \square }{12}\\\)

Now draw it.  Divide your rectangle into 12 strips.

Put R in the red strips, G in the green strips and B in the blue strips.

Now answer the question.

The question really does not make sense.

You need to work out the answer for each and compare them.

The two methods are near enough to identical.

Only difference is that you added the 7 first then subtracted the 3y

whereas

asinus did it in the other order.

Maybe it is easier for YOU to do yours in your head because you have been taught to always do it in that order.

I have answered an earlier question for you.

I got 5

2,7,7

3,6,7

4,5,7

4,6,6,

5,5,6

2+6+7=15 so that it no good

In fact all yours have a perimater of 15, but the question says the perimeter is 16.
