Depends what you mean

(2,30) cannot be simplified  but

(12/2, -3/15) can be simplified to  (6,-1/5)

maybe they mean something like this

$$f(x)=-3(x)+5\\\\
\begin{tabular}{|c|c|c|c|c|}
\hline
$x$&1&2&3&4\\\hline
$f(x)$& \;&\; & \;& \;&\hline
\end{tabular}$$

This means

f(1)=-3*1+5=-3+5=2

so you put 2 in the box under the 1

Now you do the same with the other numbers.

first expand the brackets.

Now do it just the same as any other equation.

BUT REMEMBER

If you multiply OR divide be a negative number then you have to SWAP the sign (< or >) around.

and

I you swap the sides  you also have to SWAP the (< or >) sign around.

Now you try to do it and we can check your working and your answer.   

there is an invisable multiply sign between the 2000 and the bracket.

Is this why you could not do the question?

x could be  or  6/3   or  11-9   etc  

you can think of more yourself.    

That is just another mystery to add to all the others that life offers.
