1) Fun with complex numbers - two different solution methods  

A trader wants to sell 100 outdated shirts. I t was able to sell 43 at the original price. Itthen grants a discount of €1 per shirt and thus sells 17. He liquid the rest €1.5 unity.Calculate the initial price of a shirt, knowing that he has cashed in all €1 243?

Let P be the original price

43P+17(P-1)+(100-43-17)1.5 = 1243

I think that this is the equation that you need to solve.

Well you could do it that way

$$\sqrt6$$

You could type in 

sqrt(6)    or  6^(1/2)    or   6^(0.5)

or you could press the     $$\sqrt{x}$$     button and then 6=

I always do thes by deciding the correct quadrant

then draw the equivalent acute angle

Find the other side using pythagoras

Read the tan value off the triangle

Insert the correct sign.
