Multiply -9 by 29

f(29) = -261 + 2

Add -261 and 2

When you "fraction bust", you are simply finding a way to get rid of fractions to make it easier for yourself. You find the common denominator, which in this case, would be 6. So you multiply EVERYTHING by 6

x/3 + x/2 = 1

Fraction bust

6(x/3 + x/2) = (1)6

Multiply

6x + 6x = 6

Simplify

12x = 6

Divide by 12 on both sides

x = 6/12

Simplify

x = 1/2

There are different standard forms for different things. You're probably just learning the standard form that is Ax + By = C

Standard Form of a Linear Equation

y = mx + b

Standard Form of a Polynomial

Ex. x⁶ + 4x³ + 3x² - 7

It is where the exponents are greatest to least

Those are only 3 standard forms, and there are a few more I'm pretty sure
