15+2x=x^2       Subtract 15 + 2x from each side, we get

0 = x^2 - 2x - 15     Now, let's factor the right side

0 = (x -5) (x +3)      And setting each of these to 0, we get

x = 5  and x = -3

And that's it!

Just divide (2+ 1/2) by (1/8)      ....    so we get

5/2 / 1/8       And inverting the second fracction and multiplying, we have

5/2 * 8/1 = 40 / 2    = 20 glasses

So, adding 1 to both sides, we have

2sin(x) = 1   Divide both sides by 2

sin(x) = 1/2  So this is a 30° angle in the first quadrant or a 30° angle in the second quadrant, i.e., 150°.

A general solution, in terms of degree measure, would be x = 30 + 360n   or  x = 150 + 360n

then x = the answer + 2

Therefore

5(the answer + 2) - 10 = 25    Add 10 to both sides

5(answer + 2) = 35                Distribute 5 over the terms in the parentheses on the left side

5*answer + 10 = 35                 Subtract 10 from both sides

5*answer = 25                          Divide by 5 on both sides

answer = 5

And that's the "answer' for x - 2

Remember...an equation has to satisfy all values where it is defined...in this case where x > 0. So lets pick any positive number, say, 1, and see if it "works.'

7 /(1)^3 = (3/2 x √(1) + 2 / (1)^3)   ???

7/1 = (3/2 + 2)  ???

7 = 7/2   ???

(Actually.....your equation only works when x ≈ 1.41)
