Total displacement = 0.5*5*30+(0.5*-20*15) = 75-150 = -75m

44= 4*11 = 2*2*11

400-150=250

250 divided by the weight of the cargo boxes in pounds - round DOWN  to the lower whole number.

That will be your answer.

I am just looking at your question now and it has got me rather stumped.

Usin the quadratic formula and the discriminant=0  I get to

$$a^2+b^2-c^2=2(a-c)$$

$$c^2=a^2+b^2-2(a-c)$$

This looks similar to the cosine rule so I could say that

$$a-c=abcosC$$         [and we also know that    a=3c-3b]

Now  ummmm

You do not need to work out what x is!

If    7X + 3 = 5X – 7, evaluate:   4 + 2X – 2.

evaluate:     4+2X-2 = 2X+2

7X+3=5X-7

2X+2+1=-7

2X+2=-8

9% of  1200

9% means 9/100

of is multiply

the amount charged on the card    divided by     the the total cost * 100%

You can put the numbers in.

Unfortunately you have found how many like brownies NOT how many MORE like brownies than cookies.

70%like brownies,  30% like cookies,  SO  70-40=30% MORE like brownied than Cookies.

30% = 30/100 = 0.30 = 0.3

$${\mathtt{0.3}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{280}} = {\mathtt{84}}$$  students like brownies more than cookies.
